  1. Hi all. Although I'm well aware of the NTFS having advantages over FAT32, for video-capturing, I'm sharing the 3rd partition on my 2nd hard disk. I'm about to trial installing Win XP Home Edition alongside my current Win 98 install as a dual-boot system.

Because I'm "testing the waters", including trialling XP-updated drivers for my PCTV pro card amongst other equipment, I'd rather keep all my partitions FAT32 to share between O/S's.

The only thing is, I haven't really seen anything about whether if WDM driver based capturing app's like VirtualVCR & IUVCR only work on NTFS file systems,or if they also work on FAT32 systems too? Do they have any multi-segmented capturing abilities like VirtualDub & AVI_IO have?

Thank you for any input in advanced.

  2. They should work on fat32 drives no problems, I used IUVCR briefly way back when I had fat32 drives worked fine but I prefered vdub.

I've been using VirualVCR for months and I do not belive it will multisegment. If someone knows how to do it, let me know.
