  1. When I have a DVD that isn't completely full, I always use QuickPAR (parchive.sourceforge.net) and fill up the rest of the DVD with PAR2-recovery data. I do it by first generating the PAR2-files from the files in VIDEO_TS, and then creating an extra directory in the root of the disc called RECOVERY, and move the files there. Then, if the disc goes partly bad somewhere in the middle, and I have more PAR2-files than corrupted data, I will be able to fix the movie. This works for CDs too, of course.

  2. Kosh specifies that he doesn't put the PAR2 files in the VIDEO_TS folder... however, I leave my PAR2 files in the VIDEO_TS folders (makes it easier to verify the disc later if I suspect problems).

Anyone know of a concrete reason not to leave the PAR2 files in the VIDEO_TS folder on the DVD-R?
