Hi,

I really need some help with, as you may have guessed from the title, taking an AC3 and an M2V, and combining them into one - high-quality if possible - MP4 file, with AAC sound, saving as much disk space as possible without loosing too much quality (it's ripped from DVD, and I don't want to go too much below that).

I already have tools for getting the AC3 to AIFF, and have it all working, so if there's something that can do M2V and AIFF or WAV, but not AC3 then that'll do too.

My problem is that I really want a one-step process for putting them together and encoding the MP4.

Originally, I thought I could do it by converting the M2V to uncompressed video, the AC3 to AIFF, putting them together in QuickTime Player (Pro), and then exporting to MP4, which would have worked (I think), but I only have 60 gigs free disk space. (Plus 40 on another drive).

What about ffmpegX? I've had it installed for ages but I haven't got a clue what it is or how to use it. Could this be the solution to my problem? Unfortunately I couldn't find a help file or manual with it.

Any and all help would be much appreciated.

P.S. I have a dual-867mhz G4 MDD running Jaguar 10.2.6 with QT 6.2 Pro, 60 + 40 gigs free HD space, 512mb RAM, and an Apple Combo drive, if any of that helps.

Thanks in advance!
