    Im currently Using Ulead Movie Maker 2....and I need to know how to make my home movies widescreen. It seems whenever there fullscreen, they loose some of the quality. If you could , just give me a program that I can do it with.

    Also, I have a problem with TMPGE and Ulead on me downstairs computer. Whenever I try to add one of my home videos, it says its either Unsupported or inaccessable. Do any of you know what to do about this? Any help would be greatly Appreaciated!

    @ NemisisYTP,

    encoding your home-movies to widescreen is not the answer to your final
    result of your MPEG quality issue.

    However, if your home footage was shot using 16:9, then that's another
    story.

    Assuming that you shot your footage in 16:9 mode on your CAM, then all
    you would do under TMPG is to set the following:
    * Settings/Video Tab/.. Size [720] x [480]
    * Settings/Video Tab/.. Aspect ratio [16:9]
    * Settings/Video Tab/.. Encode mode [Interlace]

    * Settings/Advance Tab/.. Video source type [Interlace]
    * Settings/Advance Tab/.. Field order: [Bottom field first (field B)] ...for DV
    * Settings/Advance Tab/.. Source aspect ratio: [4:3 525 line]
    * Settings/Advance Tab/.. Video arrange Method: [Full screen] ***

    *** experiment a little w/ these settings, by doing several test encodes for
    each, next, burn all the test encodes to CDR/RW and see which one displays
    correctly - - assuming you know which is which (AR speaking)

    Now, if you CAM does not support 16:9, then you are out of luck, and you
    should NOT be trying to SQUEEZE your footage on TV. Even if what you
    are trying to do is get better quality.
