  1. I'm losing it here.

I got 2 xvid 23,976 avi files i want to make SVCDs out off. I tried a few things but the audio is always out of sync.

    What i tried:
    1. just use virtualdub to get the .wav file. put the .avi and the .wav file in tmpgenc, select NTSC Film SVCD template and run it.
    2. just use virtualdub to get the .wav file. put the .avi and the .wav file in tmpgenc, select NTSC Film SVCD template and run it. select 3:2 pulldown
    3. just use virtualdub to get the .wav file. put the .avi and the .wav file in tmpgenc, select NTSC Film SVCD template and run it. select on frame conversion
    4. just use virtualdub to get the .wav file. used besweet to conver the wav to 25. put the .avi and the .wav file in tmpgenc, select Pal SVCD template and run it.
    5. followed the divx(avi) to (s) vcd using DVD2SVCD quide
    6. frameserve with virtual dub to tmpgenc and convert the framerate to 25.

But so far nothing worked.. can some point me to a good quide that works for xvid 23,976 to svcd.

what kind of audio do you have? if it's ac3, install Odio Dekoda

    http://www.moonlight.co.il/download/?dl=odiodekoda

no matter what audio you have, always load the file in virtualdub mp3
freeze. scan for bad frames and delete them. a guide and tools for doing
that are available on this site to your left.

  4. We see this asked so many times and it's so easy to do.

Your process 4 is along the right lines, but remember to use "full processing mode" and "Audio Conversion" to get the VBR MP3 file out of VirtualDub.

Use VirtualDub to make an audioless avi, using "Audio->No Audio", "Video->Direct Stream Copy" and "Video->Frame Rate->Change to 25".

Use this new avi and the besweet converted wav and all should be well, but you can always check the new avi and wav are in sync using VirtualDub. Load the new avi, "Audio->WAV Audio", select your new wav file and watch a bit at the beginning, middle and end.
