I'm afraid you have to start testing CD-RWs instead of CD-Rs. I have one of these ( I'll assume UK model as I'm in Australia ) and it works with some CR-RWs. ( At least it does when it's in the mood
)
So far I have found JNL( 50/50 bet ), Avalon(8 out of 10 work) and Traxdata( about 40% work ) to be okay. If anyone has any better bets, please add them in. I can use the info too.

Try Mr. Write CD-RW. It works best. You can order online from http://www.computer123.com at $3.50/10 pcs. Browse:Media, Brand: Friendly CD Tek.

I haven't seen the JNLs locally for a while ( I'm in Melbourne, Australia so you may have trouble if you're not. Sorry
) and the Avalons can be obtained at Jaycar Electronics. Don't know if they have a web site.
Good Luck

I have the exact same DVD player. Use Memorex CD-RW 4x-10x and it works perfectly.
