I can copy a dvd9 to dvdr using dvd95copy version 1.5 no problem. The disc plays great, menus work and everything is okay.
However, if I try to copy the disc using Nero or Record Now disc to disc option the write process fails. Nero gives an error message about not being able to read the source disc.
I have tried ripping (using my Samsung dvd-rom drive) the dvdr in file mode using dvd decrypter and smart ripper, the vobs rip okay but the ifo and bup files have read errors. The dvd-rom drive plays the disc okay.
I have also tried ripping in iso mode, the ripper stops before completing the task. However I do not have this problem when I use DVD2ONE, IC7 or DVD Shrink to transcode the original.
I have a Sony burner (OEM) version, firmware version 1.1a I have tried different types and brands of discs. Does not matter the source disc is -r/w or +r/w.
I have an Intel P4 2.0 GHz processor, 768 MB ddr & 80gb hard disc. I am running windows xp with service pack 1 installed.
My Sony burner will sometimes rip the whole movie, but if I try to burn in Nero DVD video template I get a compliance test error. If I ignore and burn anyway the disc will fail to play all the way through. I then have to run the files through the transcode process again.
I would welcome any advice, as I really like this piece of software. Is there any form of protection put on the files by dvd95copy ?
Thanks. dlb.
