  1. I downloaded a movie off of kaZaa in an avi. format. For some reason I cant view it on KaZaa. What do I need to do to view this movie and burn it onto a DVD. And yes, I do have a DVD burner, but I'm clueless with all of this computer talk. And one other thing. Can I use DVD+RW, because a lot of the conversion programs say DVD-R

  2. Okay, the reason you can't see the movie is probably a codec problem. Either you don't have any at all installed, or you don't have the proper one(s). Do a search for something called Nimo Codec Pack, and download/install this. Then you should be able to watch the movie, unless it uses some REALLY bizarre codec. As far as your burner using +r, don't worry that most guides refer to it as -r. This is just the format that most people are currently using. The same guides will work with your burner.

However, you can't just burn the avi file to dvd and watch it on your standalone. ALMOST NO standalones are capable of playing Divx movies, with a couple of exceptions. You'll need to convert it first, but the guides here will pretty much walk you through it !!!!

    Hope this helped.

Here is a link to the official website of NEMO's CODEC PACK
    http://nimo.titanesk.com/

There is an FAQ there that I am sure will answer all of your questions.

    P.S.
You might want to consider trying more than one MEDIA PLAYER ... for instance I use not only the one built into WIN XP but also the BSPlayer and ZoomPlayer. You should be able to find download links to those and other MEDIA players on this website or the doom9 website.
