I am using the ATI All-In-Wonder 7500 to capture straight from caox (cable TV) and have a problem with the audio. I am capturing to MPG-2 format. When I play the MPG file in a video player the audio is fine, but after I burn it to DVD (using Ulead DVD WorkShop) and play the DVD the audio is LOUD and I have to tunr the volume WAY down. I have burned many AVI/ MPG files with WorkShop with no problems, just the ones I capture have problems.

Is there somthing in my capture settings causing this, or something I need to do to "turn down" the volume before capturing? I have tried several different capture settings, all with the same result, so any suggestion on the "best" settings to use will be appreciated.

  2. Turning down the main volume won't effect the sound recorded. You may have to turn down the volume located in the Recording Volume properties. Usually it's the Line In one.

I will try that, but not sure if that is the issue as when I play the video thru a software video program (like the ATI media player) the volume is fine, it is just when it is burned to DVD that it is LOUD.

It may be something the DVD WorkShop is doing to the audio when it is converting/re-encoding the video that is causing this but I dont know since it doesnt happen to videos that I didnt capture. I just feel there may be an audio setting in the capture settings that I may be overlooking...

  4. I had a similar problem with the audio, I found out the the mic boost button was turn on because of the way I had my audio input setup from my ATI card. I thought it was the audio programs that I installed that came with the ATI card. Not the case, just unchecked the audio boost box for the mic input and my sound problem was fixed.
