  1. I used DTOX for the first time trying to backup Signs. When using DVD Backup 1.3, the only problem reported was: ?Error decrypting Title Set 2? (I tried to rip in OSEx but it said ?invalid thread? or something similar). I went ahead with the processing in DVD Backup and then did ?Movie Only? copy in DTOX. The DVD works fine in the Apple DVD Player. However, when played in a standard DVD player, it plays only half way through (approximately) before stuttering, freezing up, and then becoming ?unreadable.? This has happened in both DVD players I have tried (PS2 and Philips). I made another copy and it does the same thing. Do you guys have any insight on the effect of the error, the problem with the DVD, and whether there is a link between them? Also, is there a way to solve the OSEx problem? I am using Memorex blanks. Thanks.

I backuped signs first try no problem. Did you run the disk in DVD Player before you tried to rip it in DVDBackup?

  3. I did run it but you tell me if I did what I needed to. I just let it play for ten seconds and then went through the four main menu options quickly (just clicking on them and waiting for a few seconds). Is that enough? The Signs DVD was brand new. I had not even opened it before ripping it. Thanks.

All I did was Open it and play and go through each chapter for a few seconds. It ripped and burned perfectly for me.

    one suggestion
play it to the point it freezes up on your dvd players. see if the same thing happens.

    2. use another dvd back up method, like OSeX rip to DVD Folders and see if you dont get the error again

or, one other option is to make a disk copy do tyour HD, such that you are dragging the dvd to your HD using OPTION - DRAG which will copy the entire DVD to yoru HD, then use back up to make the decrypted copy, maybe someting happened during the back up from the dvd itself

plus, this will go a little faster on the back up part that is.

    best of luck
