OK this is my first post, only because I have been able to find all the info I needed by reading, but this one has got me stumpped. Here is the low down:
I have a HP 300i DVD + burner, and I am trying to rip and burn a DVD-R to a DVD+R. I put in the DVD-R that I would like to backup, and its brand new, I did play it to make sure it was working before I tried to back it up. I start up Smart Ripper, It get's to around 53% and just stops responding. I close out SR and try DVD Decrypter, same thing, I try DISK2DISK copy, same thing. I have gone back to SR and decided to do each file one by one to find out which file is giving problems. I get to the 2nd .VOB file and again it stops responding. I am currently trying to do an image copy, but am affraid that it might become a coaster...( not that I havent done a few already, but we all know how expensive they can be). I have cleaned and inspected the disk for scratch's, finger prints...doesn't seem to be any. This is the second DVD-R that I have recieved from the same source, that has given me trouble. I have not tried the third one that i have...YET, probably because these 2 have given me problems. One other thing to mention, when I used DVD Decrypter, and It poped up the Error screen where I had the choice to ignore and proceed, It had a total of (16) Read Errors. I have been able to backup movies and home videos before, so I am pretty sure I know what I am doing, but like I said, this one has me stumpped. Thanks to anyone for any and all help.
