    i have a question.

how do u make nvidia geoforce 4 420 video card with s video show video or movie output tothe tv?

i had a nvidia geoforce 4 420 video card previously, and it show everything on my tv including my dvd movies, but when i upgrade my ram & i had to take my video card out to put the ram in. i didn't sit it in the exact way it need to sit on my gateway comp and the computer fried my video card.

by the way, on my wife AMD computer i took my nvidia geoforce 4 440 video card out numerous times and sit it back in wrong quite a few times, but on her computer when u start it, if sometime is wrong with it, it immediately make a series of beeps to let u know it won't boot up and to fix the problem, which in this case i didn't seat the video card exactly right. when i fix the problem it boots up.

hint gateway, u should do the same thing for your computers.

but anyway, when i brought the new exact same card, it show all my computer stuff on my big screen tv but when i go to watch the dvd with powerdvd the movie screen part of power dvd goes blank while u can see the power dvd skin and everything else.

everybody is telling that i probaly need to set something on my comp.to make it work , but i don't know what to set.

    any help is appreciated.

p.s. when the 1st card went bad i uninstalled the drivers to that card and went back to the on board video . i got the new video card and it came with a different cd than the 1st one did and windows xp said it wasn't XP certified. so i download the universal driver from nvidia.com if that helps.

  2. Try setting the TV as the primary display. I had the exact same prob with a 440MX and one of the driver versions (can't remember which). Otherwise upgrade to the latest drivers.
