DVD Decrypter. Easy and freeware:
1) Run DVD Decrypter
2) Put in source DVD. Choose "Mode | ISO - Read"
3) Rip/Copy ISO image file to HD
4) Put in blank DVDR. Choose "Mode| ISO - Write"
Just like backing up and DVD5 disc -
DVD Shrink also works for a direct copy with no change in compression, then burn with either recordnow or NERO

I am just trying to duplicate a homemade dvd of home movies. It is nearly two hours long. I have tried DVD Decrypter, MyDVD, Nero, neoDVD and one or two others. I did get a coy made on neoDVD but it will only play on my computer and not my dvd players, one of which is an Apex 3201 and the other a Philips 985.
I instructed my computer to keep the power running and disabled the screen saver and everything in the task bar before starting.
On DVD Decrypter I get error messages. I tried ignoring the error messagees and did get a copy on the hard drive. But then I was unsuccessful in burning a disc.
Need help. I have a Dell with Pentium IV, 2.53 processer, 512 Memory and 60 G hard drive. It has a Samsung DVD-ROM drive and an NEC +R/RW 1100A DVD Writer. I have been told I should partition my computer and buy DVDXCOPY. -
ok here is ....
1. I get the not enough space problem with nero as well.
2. I get a problem with dvd decrypter that stops ripping at 98%.
so here is what i did.
to use nero:
1. set up anew project see this link to set up a file that you can use for dvd copying...http://www.deano.dsl.pipex.com/backup/nero1.htm
2. Right click on the video_ts folder on the left window pane and select add files.
3.Add all of the movie files from the dvd files you are trying to copy.
3. The computer will rip them into the folder.
4. Burn the dvd
to use dvd decrypter:
1. i just click on cancel when the file gets hung up, then click on "no" when the "delete temp files?" dialog box pops up.
2. go into write mode, find the file that was just written (somehow it winds up being complete) and burn
i am currently looking for another way to do this. I did use nero dvd to dvd copy function and it worked beautifully...BUT THEN stopped.
I liked the fact that I could just click 1 button, walk away and come back to a finished copy. I am currently looking into recordnow and Maybe Roxio???. Let me know if this works or if you find a bettter way.
