I bought a new cdrw, Samsung cdrw/dvd sm348B and the burning speed is 48x. If my cdrw's burning speed is at 48x (7200kb/s), how much time should it take to burn a 700mg file? It took me about 8-9 minutes to burn a 700mg file. Shouldn't it burn it in a shorter time period?

Also, some systems are not fast enough to do high-speed burning. So in those cases you may be lucky if you can burn at 16x without problems. -
Check your media's max speed, shut down any other programs running in background. In my own personal experience Memorex has very good quality for not too much money. Stay away from crap like Verbatims. The price might be right but IMHO they turn out like sh*t!
