I've done some searching in these forums, and while I've come with some refferences to this problem, im yet to find a solution.
I'm using the latest version of forty-two and encoding dvd's to divx using the 'DivX near DVD' quality option. most rips turn out great.
Sometimes however, some rips show distortion when there is movement, almost like you can see the interlace? (this is bought up in the follwoing thread:
https://www.videohelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=527479&highlight=fortytwo+interlace#527479
The interesting thing is, in 1 example, the source dvd is a tv show, the episodes are in different titles, I can successfully rip the first episode (title 1) , then when I rip the second episode (title 2) i get the distortion problems.
(I'm ripping on a 17" G4 Powerbook, with OS X 10.2.6).
I'd really appreciate any insight someone may have on why this is happening, and if its possible to fix?
Thanks for your time
Josh
