  1. Hi,
i'm planning to do a small Wedding Video business, and for a start, i'll do VCDs. Here are what I've been experimenting, but yet to achive flawless VCD quality:-

    1) Capture my videos in DV format via firewire card, using Pinnacle Studio8.
    2) Edit my stuffs in Studio 8.
    3) Encode them in AVI with no compression in Studio 8.
    4) Use TMPGEnc to encode to VCD format.
    - using Wizard Template
    - I check on the Noise Reduction
    - I choose Highest Motion search
    5) Burn to VCD using Nero Express.

Any comment or better suggestions? Btw, i need to make VCDs which are compatible to most VCD players.

I'd recommend VCDEasy instead of Nero for authoring. My player refuses to play any VCD authored with Nero, but plays "anything" in or out of specs authored with VCDEasy.

  3. dont use motion search highest, nobody says its any better than the next two lower settings but will double (or treble) the processing time of tmpgenc ...and we all know time is money! vcds should be compatible with nearly all dvd players but obviously svcd is higher quality?
