  1. I burned a copy of my daughter's Cinderella to a DVD-R that came with 4x Cendyne drive (Pioneer-105). I used DVDDecrypter (main movie only), DVDToolbox, and Prassi PrimoDVD. I tried playing the disk in my CyberHome CH-300 standalone and the movie started playing great. Then somewhere in the middle of the movie the disk started stutterring/freezing. It appears to be at random. If I skip a chapter and then go back, it will still stutter, but not necessary in the same place. What would be the cause of this? Is that a bad burn? Bad media? (What media is included with Cendyne drives anyway?) Can somebody help me?

  2. Anyone? That's my first burn. Shoud I blame the DVD player? The DVD-R media? The burner?

Try playing the DVD-R on a different player or your computer. On your standard player, if the playback is having problems in different spots of the movie, then I tend to think that your player may not like the specific media or may not even be able to play DVD-Rs at all. You can check its compatability on the menu on the left (Other - DVD Players).

  4. Does the disk work in your DVD-ROM ? (or burner) if not then it's a rip problem.. if yes, it's most likely a media problem

  5. It did play the end of the movie on my PC using the same Pioneer DVD-RW I used for burning. I got the CyberHome CH-300 DVD player at RadioShack yesterday. It is adverstised as compatible with almost everything. I specifically asked the guy at the store to connect the player to a TV and put my DVD disk. The disk strated playing jsut fine, so I bouth the player. As I said earlier, half of the moview played beautifully at home and then it started stuttering/freezing at random. Does it sound as a bad media? (What media is supplied with Cendyne?)

Likely it was a problem between the media and the player if a new player plays it. Some players just seem to like some brands of media better then others. Some will not play some brands at all sometimes.

Pausing/Stuttering is media related in some form or another 95% of the time.

  8. Well, I've just downloaded ADVDInfo. Apparently the disk that was included with Cendyne/Pioneer DVD-RW was 1x Princo DVD-RW. I checked responses about this media and they are not favourable. Also, I might have burned the disk at 2x because I selected Max speed when burning using PrimoDVD. Does it look like it is the bad media? Anybody else had problems with burning/playing Princos that were later succesfuly resolved by using a better quality media?

  11. Thanks! I'll try burning another movie using a better quality media. Hopefully it will prove that the initial problem was with the Princo disk and not with my DVD player. (I really like this CyberHome CH-300 player. It is one cute little beast! I tried playing a VCD CD-RW disk on it last night and it played flawlessly. If DVD issues are resolved I am planning to keep it.)

My Pine 4X DVR-105 came with 2 disk. a ritek 4x -r (yummy) and a Princo -RW which I promply chunked.

So yeah some of the rebadgers have interesting choices in media.
