    GALACTIA ET AL...
I have done everything you said to do. I got an mg of 7.5 on the VIDEO_TS folder...
I downloaded...I asked for Movie only...I changed the megs to 4444...
I don't know what the heck I am doing wrong!
Why is this so complicated...? (or why am I so thick)_
Am I choosing the wrong file when it asks me to save...
Will I ever get this right?

The answer...will I ever get it right is....yes!
I must have been tired last night but I stayed with it and got a perfect
copy of a movie I bought called The Pianist. It plays beautifully..
    It shows only 443 mg....
    I didn't watch til the end because I fell asleep...but it's great.
Thank you, thank you for the invaluable help.
I'm on my way now....all I need is the popcorn!

Okay, High on my success, I started another project.
This time when I went to click a new disk on Titanium, it shows
    544 mb.
I chose movie only and both english audios...that's all.
How come I'm getting so much more when I set it to 4444?
    groan.

    To all who helped me...
    Thanks.
Sometimes you just have to figure things out for yourself. Once I had all the information the only problem came from simple things.

I realized that once I had built the Backed Up the original disk, I created
a VIDEO_TS file...but once I processed it through DVD2One, it created a new one which I couldn't see. I went looking for it, checked inside and found
    it was much smaller.
I'm on my way. Thanks for your patience and kindness.

No problem, it happens. Had a friend send me a tutorial with A LOT OF PICTURES that explains every details, even tips on how to keep the video_ts folders seperate.

Ill post it to my web as soon as i can, and put the link up. its quite nice, with lots of screenshots which should make it easy for newbies!

glad its worked out for ya
you know where to post in the future

    Galactica...
I took a couple of days off and just returned...
Thanks again. I tried to burn a new DVD I bought to give to one
    of my kids...
This time, I couldn't get a smaller than 740 mg file. I only chose the
English audio files..(no director's choice) and no subtitles..(the film..25th Hour).
I tried three times and still couldn't get it smaller despite the fact that I was
    asking for "movie only"....
What should you include or exclude when you are choosing audio files under "movies only"...
Did I mention that I'm suggesting you for cannonization?

740 mg? like megabyte ? or is that 7.4 Gigabyte?
Its physically impossible for DVD2ONE to make a 7.4 Gigabyte folder, since its default file size is 4472 Megabyte (4.472 Gigabyte)

Please list exactly step by step what you are doing - I have a feelign you are not selecting the folder that DVD2ONE is making, rather you are selecting the folder that the backup did.

Here's a real good guide with lots of pictures to show you how you should do dvd to dvd-r with DVD2one

    http://mywebpages.comcast.net/galactica/DTOXGuide.doc

follow it letter by letter and let me know your status

Can you export that out as a .PDF? It might provide more compatibility than with Word...

    Good
Note how in the guide you make a folder with the same name
    PHANTOM_MENACE as the dvd.

Then you run it though dvd2one, saving it to the other folder you named PHANOTM_MENACDdvd.

This one has got to be 4.3 gigs, it cant be anything greater!

Toss the PHANTOM_MENACE folder (keeping the PHANTOM_MENACEdvd folder)

This ensures you have the correct 4.4 gb folder. Just renmae as it says and off you go!
