I have a full-length (90 minute) feature film saved to DVD-RAM in 3 chapters. The RAM disc image was recorded at SP mode and plays fine. I wanted to convert the 3 chapters to DVD-R using Movie Factor 2 (MF2), which is advertised to do this conversion. I tried this twice and got two different problems having to do with audio...

I use all factory default settings and I make sure the do not re-encode checkbox is checked (which defaults to checked). MF2 imports multi-chapter VRO files from my DVD-RAMs no problem. I do no editing on the imported DVD-RAM files. I simply highlight the VRO files and MF2 converts them no problem. I ignore the warning about AC-3. I have processed the same project two different ways: the first time, MF2 burned the resulting DVD files directly to a blank DVD-R disc. The second time, I saved the project as an ISO and used DVD Decrypter to burn the ISO file to DVD-R. I created a rudimentary menu for the first attempt, and skipped the menu creation (no menu) for the second attempt.

When MF2 burned the project direct to disc, there was no audio on the resulting disc but the video was fine. When I burned the MF2-created ISO file to disc, one chapter had sound and the others had no audio. I checked the original MPEG files that MF2 imported from my DVD-RAM, and video and audio played fine in Media Player. MF2 does not playback AC-3 audio, as I confirmed when checking the converted files in MF2 preview function.

I am interested in knowing what people deduce from my above description, as I would like to be able to convert my DVD-RAMs to DVD-R and MF2 supposedly does this.
