Hi ssv you a ready have MPEG1 VCD setting you could play around with advanced setting as for XVCD you need to bump up the bitrate 2000 to 2600 depend on DVD Player.
As for I haven't done any XVCD I wait for DVD-R to come on cost so I get one for now it most lee VCD and sometime SVCD.

  3. I have not found a setting on this card yet, in MPEG1 that I like, I only record using the MPEG2 settings I did under the advance settings for a SVCD.
Best I found so far for MPEG1 and still not happy with

    352x240
    2520 Constant bitrate(above setting at 5000)
    throttle 0.070
    audio 224
sharpness 1.00 or .50 (which ever you prefer)
    Good Luck!!

thxkid - what settings are you using for SVCD? I've been trying to find SVCD settings that will allow me to save 45-50mins PAL on one SVCD but the picture quality doesn't seem very good. Would appreciate any help ....
