I get this error frequently in my NEC DV-5700A DVD-ROM drive when I try to read a DVD-R or DVD+R that I burned with my Sony DRU-500a DVD+/-RW drive. I do NOT get this error when I read the disc in my Sony drive. Also, if the disc is a DVD movie (home or backup) it'll play fine in my Toshiba SD2800. I'd say that I get this read error in the NEC DVD-ROM drive about 60 to 70% of the time. I've never encountered this type of error on any manufactured CDs or DVDs, except one time on a DVD rip. Any ideas what's going on?
