  1. Hi,

I've had my Epson 900 printer for a few weeks now and really do like it. I've printed about 50 discs on it and noticed a problem since the beginnning.

About 3/8" from the bottom of the printed dvd there is a space about 1/2" wide that prints just a little lighter. I believe my plastic tray may be a little warped or maybe there's some sort of internal problem. Just wondering if anyone else has noticed a similar problem?

    Thanks, Jerry

  2. Hi m8 yes I had the same problem but when I use Verbatim DVDr they are perfect. Sadly my printer printed photos with visible line structure which was not due to blocked heads so I have had to return it and got a replacement which done the same so I have now ordered a 950.

  4. Hi,

No problems other than some DVD-R media not drying after printing! I have printed a number of discs which upto a week later have still not dried - and yes, they were sold as printable media.

    vcdlover,

The US model of the 950 is the 960.

    http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/consumer/consDetail.jsp?BV_UseBVCookie=yes&oid=22403490

Newegg.com has them in stock for $318 + $6 shipping..

I plan on picking up a 900 once they come available locally as the 960 is a little more than I want to invest just for printing on my disc blanks..

Another thread here suggested using a spray to seal the disc blank to prevent smearing..

    Regards...
    Rick

I was about to post and ask if anyone had this printer-cause i had a question about media.....spooky

I always buy ICE 4x DVD-R and was wondering if anyone had tried to print on these. They have quite a glossy finish - but i dont how the Epson would cope.

If they work-i'm straight down to DIXONS
    cheers everyone...

Is the ICE media that you are using Ink-Jet printable? If not then the Epson won't be able to print on it. The ink either won't dry or will bead up.

  13. BReeve you dont have to spend £2 on media SVP are doing 2X Verbatim printables for £1.65 each in jewel cases, which in my experience are the best available, the inkjet surface produces far superior results than any other I have tried. Bigpockets are also selling Opti 1X inkjet printable for 99p each although I am not sure what dye there using.
