This one really has me scratching my head. Over the past few years using Win98se I've either built new systems or totally reinstalled OS's and have never had a problem getting capture resolutions up to 720x480. Now I have just tripple-booted, adding Win2kPro and WinXPpro in an atempt to compare each ones worth. Herein lies the problem areas, I can get no more than 640x480 from Win2k and even less in WinXP.

I'm using a WinTV-FM card with the latest drivers from the Hauppauge site and capturing through V'Dub with Huff codec. Just wondering if there are some limitations built into these drivers? I completed a search in these forums and found a couple of references to both the "WDM VFW wrapper" and the "btwincap" driver. Curious as to whether there is a consensus here that these options are a much better solution. I've not tried them yet since I still recall having a bad experience some time back attempting to "upgrade" an earlier system to the "btwincap" driver.

Also as an aside...it was a bit of a chore learning to get audio to capture through the SoundBlaster Live card but over time it has become second nature with no guesswork involved and accomplished in just moments. The same can not be said for the two new OS's. I was able to get the faintest amount of audio (not usable) from the Win2k boot but I'm still fighting to get any audio capture from the XP boot. On both the audio works fine with all other installed applications but not with V'Dub.
