  1. Hi,

Am trying to burn my first VCD. I have done so using Nero and it seemed to work okay. When I tried playing on my LG 2280p DVD player (which I believe can play VCD) nothing happened.

I have had a look on the cd at the files that are on there and this is what I have got....

    CDi
    Ext
    Mpegav
    Segment
    Vcd
    (all directories)

inside the Mpegav directory there is a avseq01.dat file.

Does this sound about right. How can i test the VCD?

    Cheers,
    Chris

  2. never had any problem with nero burning a vcd. does the cd work on ur computer? if it does, then it might be that the dvd player is having problems reading the cd-r

  3. Thanks for the reply.

I think it may just be my DVD player...grrr!!! I can play the CDR with my computers DVD player.

My DVD player has no problems playing audio CDR's so thought it would be okay playing VCD's? Is that a wrong assumption? I have looked thru my DVD's manual and it says nothing about VCD's or CDR's. I have also had a look round on the internet and cant find anything. If anyone has a LG 2280p DVD can you play VCD?

    Thanks,
    Chris

Many LG DVD Player do not play CD-R's. You could try burning your VCD on a CD-RW. Also, you should make sure that your player does play VCD's.

    Tryout http://www.lgdvd.co.uk

and maybe post or search their forum for an answer.
