  1. I have a Pioneer Hi Fi system model XR-A330(Australian Model Number). I bought it about two years ago and just recently noticed on the electronic display that it has a display saying V-CD. In the manual it says nothing about it and their website is crap. There are no buttons on the remote all the unit that I have used that make the V-CD light up. In the manual it says it can be hooked up to things like a mini-disc player but does this mean that it can play VCD's???.

  2. i highly doubt it.....it truly is impossible if there is no video output, such as an rca jack labeled "video".....i suspect that they have used the display for other models as well to save them money or something

V-CD probably means that it is a generic line-level input (as opposed to phono) that is good for audio devices (CD) or 2-channel audio output from a video device. The big clue is the color coding: audio input/output are usually red and white, composite video is yellow, component video is blue/orange/green, s-video uses pins and digital audio is generally black.

  5. Thanks tlegion for the help, I didnt think that it was capable because I saw the red and white before but i didnt know of anything that would mean V-CD on a CD player

  6. It seems a generic LCD that is used in others systems, probably a VCD player.
