    i am using tmpeg dvd and are unable to put 3 svcds onto 1 dvd as it says the video resolution 480 x 576 cannot be used for a standard dvd can anybody help me

  2. This is a typical problem that has been discussed several times in this forum. The reason for it is that DVD NTSC only accepts 2 legal resolutions, 720x480 and 320 x 480 (240), slightly different for PAL.

    I guess you need to re-encode your SVCD to VCD standard, or up to 720x 480 which is wasteful . Maybe there's another way.

    As you mentioned RWANDREWS, they could go with 352x480 (352x576 for PAL), and not really notice a quality loss.

    There's no need to convert the svcd. I started using SVCD2DVDMPG to convert the header files to 352x480. Which is a standard dvd format. This simply tricks the editing software ie Ulead movie maker. Once you compile the dvd to hard drive. You then repatch the header files to original setting 480x480 if it's and ntsc svcd. Burn to a dvd and voila. Has worked like a charm for me.
