All I know is when I load a DV AVI into Premeire, it reports Lower Field first.
When I load same AVI into Ulead, it reports Field order A.

As far as I'm concerned, Field order A = Lower Field first.

Premier says all DV AVI is Lower Field first.
Ulead says all DV AVI is Field order A.

It needs to match the source.
I'm not online anymore. Ask BALDRICK, LORDSMURF or SATSTORM for help. PM's are ignored.

Unfortunately, as mentioned above, if you dont know the source field order, different software may report it differently.

Besides the mpeg merge/cut features, this is the only other thing I find useful about tmpgenc, it tends to report field order correctly. So I load my file into it, check what it says is the field order, and then go encode with good software using the reported field order from tmpgenc.

  5. Hello everebody. Thanx for your replys. The final result was found thanks to "txpharoah". I see the web page he sent me and i found that expresion: "Top firld first (field A)" It means that DV cams using field order B. Thatīs the problem - espesialy with Ulead - it uses field order A. There was no problem with video until I used only DV. Now I transfer my old records from DV to DVD and the video is jerky at the places with speed motion.
