  1. I'm looking for a program that will let me create VCD's with menus as rich and detailed as any DVD. I also want to create a slide show, like you find on many "extra" DVD's.

    I'm currently using Nero, but I don't care for its menu editor.

    Check the tools section to the left. I use Ulead dvd moviefactory(try the free 30-day download). for more involved menus( motion) try Ulead dvd workshop hth,

    Just about anything that can be done within the VCD and SVCD specs (and a little that go beyond) can be done--FOR FREE--with VCDImager, and GUIs for it such as VCDEasy.

    You would need to use a photo editor to prep the menu graphics/photos, or a video editor to prep the movies/motion menus, and of course a high quality MPEG encoder such as TMPGEnc, but all else is easily done within the apps. Gives you a very capable, compliant disc. I use it over all the others. With a little bit of cheating/imagination, you can give a user an identical experience to that from a DVD.

    I heartily recommend these apps.
