  1. I have an avi that is 750 mb. When i try to put put it on a dvd, it says the file is 7 gigs. Someone told me it was because of the kind of audio that the avi has. the authoring software is converting it to a usable type, and that is why the file is so big. Is there any way to keep the avi video, but just change the audio, so it will fit on a dvd?

  2. More likely than not, whatever program you are using to convert the avi to dvd compliant mpeg2 is converting the audio to PCM, which is rather large.

I would suggest using Tmpegenc found in the Tools section to the left to convert TO DVD COMPLIANT MPEG2 before authoring your dvd, you can then load the resulting mpeg2 file in the authoring program to author and burn.
