  1. Great CG and not a good story, then you can't forget any one of the Jurrasic Park movies (great book though!). Twister had great special effects too, just didn't have a plot. When it comes to Star Wars, episodes 4 & 6 were great, the rest suck, not even just "ok", they sucked. George Lucas and Steven Speilberg (and others) quit writing good movies a long time ago and only concentrate on getting you to cough up your $$$ to see special effects strewn together, not to see a movie with a plot (that's old hollywood boy). As far as the lack of plots in these comic book movies, that problem is easy to see. How do you take a comic book that you can read in 20 minutes and make a movie that lasts an hour and a half? I did enjoy Batman (first one) and Superman (first one) though. They don't have the CG down well enough to be able to take a 2D comic hero, make him/her look realistic and still carry a movie. Hmmm, I wonder if the movie Ghost Rider or Fantastic Four will be good???

So the first reviews are coming in and its just as most expected, only the fanboys are giving it a "gee whiz" thumbs up. The rest have the same consensus, looks fake, looks like shrek, looks cartoonish, doesnt look real enough to share the screen with actual people and scenery. Also, its like the previews were saying, the movie is long, boring, Hulk doesnt appear for the first hour and then maybe has 15 or 20 minutes of total screen time in the movie.

Why do we keep supporting this sh*t. Its time that one of these movies crashed real hard so hollywood gets the message. I dont mind CG when its done proper and used on things that I have no real reference to, like terminators or dinosars or planets etc etc. And even in those shows it was supplemented with lots of actual models and real life sets so you barely notice the CG. Now I realize that I have never seen a Hulk before either, but I know enough that it has human features and those dont work with CG.

We think the MPAA are the stupid greedy fools, well think again, its movie goers like us that support this crap that contribute to the lowered quaility of entertainment. We need to vote with our pocket book and send a message.

how about the sequel uses claymation, or how bout an animated hulk, or lou ferigino. bad idea. with unreal stuff, it wont look real if you use real actors, props, etc. george lucas cant go build planets, aliens and space ships in a galaxy far far away, he chooses to use CGI. even spiderman, fanboy acclaimed film used CGI for the web-swinging/glider shots, these same fanboys are going after the hulk for the same reason they did in the 70s, hulk movie/tv show looks better than spiderman movie/tv show.

I just though it was real slow to get going. Still haven't watched the whole thing.
Hope is the trap the world sets for you every night when you go to sleep and the only reason you have to get up in the morning is the hope that this day, things will get better... But they never do, do they?

I don't really think piracy will affect the money it takes. Most people even if they do download a pirated copy will still go see in at the cinema's as it is just that type of movie that calls for 5.1 sound and a large screen.
Well I don't know about the piracy part, but I agree, I just saw this thing and you definitely have to see it on a big screen. Some thoughts:

    *********Partial spoiler alert********************

-Definitely takes too long to get going, too many 'tear jerker' moments early on take away from a really poignant scene in the middle of the movie w/ jennifer connelly.

    - When it does get going, BOY IS THIS THING A TRIP!!
    - The CGI didn't take away from my enjoyment of the film, rather it ENHANCED it. In fact, I don't think they could have done a film like this without the cg. It really captures the rage that is the hulk, kind of put the 70s show to shame in terms of what the hulk is capable of in the comics.
    - The movie could have used a good editor, too many slow parts at first then lots of action towards the end....

    - In conclusion, if you are going to go see it in theaters (which you should), be prepared to allow the story to develop, then enjoy the ride. I must say this was one of the most enjoying VISCERAL experiences I have ever had, i felt like I was 10 again, just waiting to see what the hulk would smash next .
    Turn your head and cough.
