I am using TMPGnc to convert a video that is a Divx 5.0.2 format. TMPG carries out the conversion of the video very well but it drops off the audio.
I think that it may be a codec problem as I have used other tools such as pegasus to do a conversion with the same problem.
My soulution so far has been to extract the audio seprately and follow with a de-mux re-mux. This works alright but alot of the time I get a choppy audio or VCD easy tells me that Padding needs to be added (This seems to always screw up the audio)
Any suggestions on how to just perform one conversion and have a complete video file?

Ok, So I am randomly messing around with the settings in TMPGnc
I goto options, enviromental settings, VFAPI plugins.....
I am figureing that these are the codecs used????I am not sure, I have not been able to find a comprehensive manual for this program.
Anyhow, I decide to deselect the first Avi decoder in the list in hopes that the one that I choose to not allow will be the offending code..
I deselect AVI2(OpenDML) File reader..and proceed to convert a short portion of my movie..
And it works....
Does anyone out there have some good documentation on TMPG that might explain this?
