  1. I've burned a few VCDs using "The newbies guide to fitting a movie onto one cd using TMPGenc" from this site, with no problems whatsoever.

Now when I convert an avi. to mpg. theres no audio with the movie. There are no errors while converting, but when I play the converted file there's no audio to go with the video.

Does anyone know whats going on?

Any suggestions would be a great help.

the audio is most likely ac3. pop the file into gspot and see what it tells you.
    His name was MackemX

What kind of a man are you? The guy is unconscious in a coma and you don't have the guts to kiss his girlfriend?

  3. Thanks for the advice.

I tried this method "Click on Option, Enviromental Setting, VFAPI Plug In. Change the priority of "DirectShow Multimedia File Reader to postion 1 or 2 by right clicking on it and setting the priority higher. You will see that it will move to the top."

But Ill keep gspot also, just in case.

  4. i can help you. go to tools and get virtualdub. in virtual dub, select file and open your vidio file. go to the audio tab and make sure its set to source file and direct stream copy. now under file, select save wav... select a folder and hit ok. now under tmpgenc, select your vidio file and then manually select the audio wav file you just made. try this and let me know how it goes.

  5. I had exactly the same prob last night, but being a pillock I never actually realised until I'd burnt it to DVD
Will this method work OK then D_Ran? Am I likely to run into any synch probs if I extract the audio from an NTSC AVI then convert that into PAL? I'm new to all this, so don't laugh too much if thats a stupid question!

  7. Thanks a lot! I had the same problem. I once tried using AVI to WAV and putting the WAV file with the video, but the sound became out of sync about 5 min in, and got worse!

I'll try the methods above and see what happens.

    Thanks again.
