I'm copying some VHS tapes to DVD to keep a backup copy of them cause they are starting to age. I'm capturing with an All in Wonder 128 and coverting w/ tmpgenc and i'm using a PCM wave file for my audio files. I'm authoring with DVD maestro. Heres the problem. The first time i did this, i converted the wav file to AC3 and burnt the video. It plays on my Apex DVD player using analog audio outs, but the audio is very faint and very static like. I played it on the computer with Power DVD and Media player and it plays perfectly fine. I thought maybe the dvd player didn't play AC3 format (even though i dont' think thats possible). I made my next disc using the original wav files and they played fine on the DVD Player, fine, problem solved, right? nope, second disc i made, using PCM/wav files, same static problem and it plays on the computer. I've been using these discs for a while and they seem to work well. i'm not using my normal DVD player, but i'm making them for someone else, and i'd like to get the best compatibilty. What is the problem?
