I've just purchased a Datavideo Dac-100. Which would yield better results capturing a satellite broadcast? Should I capture via the DAC-100 with Adobe Premiere (DV) or with my AIW8500 (SVIDEO) with VirtualDub?
The encoding would be done via TMPGEnc by frameserving through premiere or virtualdub.

If you can capture DV, do it before any other kind. The only time I would not capture in DV would be if I ran out of disk space.
