right now I have a 1 gighz amd athalon. I'd like to get somewhere around 1.1 or 1.2 gighz for the heck of it. could someone tell me how to do this? the sites I've looked at haven't helped me.

did you try tomshardware.com?...if not just search by "overclocking guides" in google...you are bound to come across limitless info that way...but it depends on motherboard really, if you have an ASUS or ABIT, email me and I might be able to help ya out.

Personally, I wouldn't risk overclocking an AMD cpu unless it's a Duron...or unless you have a really nice heat sink/fan...say, one that does at least 6000 rpms (check in your BIOS for that if you're not sure). Besides...isn't 1 Ghz already plenty? =P It's Athlon btw, not Athalon =)

Push it I have a 1.4 that does 1.7 just fine. your 1ghz will go 1.2 easy with a good fan goto http://www.hardocp.com

Try Anandtech.com or Amdzone.com
I have the same cpu as you but I'm only able to OC to 1150 stable (it's cause of my mobo), otherwise CCE crashes. We all know how annoying that is.
