My problem is this, when I open a mpeg2 with wmp, it attempts to download a codec, this is quite an inconvinence, I'd like to eliminate this attempt alltogether (it worked fine before but something happened and I can't tell what exactly happened)
After the download attempt fails, it will then play normally using the intervideo codecs.
I have included a link of what gspot 2.2 detects when I run it on a file.

This has had me stumped for awhile, normally I can find it, but I'm guessing that there is something installed which is causing a confliction, but I just can't figure out what it is.
Thanks![]()

Have you tried reinstall the intervideo codecs(windvd dvd player??) ?
-
I've tried that, and it made no difference at all, and yes the intervideo codecs are windvd, I could just watch in the real player but its easier (and faster loading) to just use wmp.

i've recently had this same problem, i've found no solution except watching svcds with VLC.

At this point is is an annoyance, but I do plan on reinstalling windows somepoint soon, but knowing what caused this problem would still be a good way to hopefully prevent it from happening again.
