  1. My problem is this, when I open a mpeg2 with wmp, it attempts to download a codec, this is quite an inconvinence, I'd like to eliminate this attempt alltogether (it worked fine before but something happened and I can't tell what exactly happened)

After the download attempt fails, it will then play normally using the intervideo codecs.

I have included a link of what gspot 2.2 detects when I run it on a file.

This has had me stumped for awhile, normally I can find it, but I'm guessing that there is something installed which is causing a confliction, but I just can't figure out what it is.

    Thanks

Have you tried reinstall the intervideo codecs(windvd dvd player??) ?

  3. I've tried that, and it made no difference at all, and yes the intervideo codecs are windvd, I could just watch in the real player but its easier (and faster loading) to just use wmp.

  5. At this point is is an annoyance, but I do plan on reinstalling windows somepoint soon, but knowing what caused this problem would still be a good way to hopefully prevent it from happening again.
