please help menu creation

tried nero 5.5 only to discover it doesn't play on my dvd player... as many posts here indicate (sigh)

please advise best program for making menus and then for burning a VCD from TMPEGEnc encoded mpegs.

Nero doesn't make them in a very intellegent way so they may not work...

However, firstly, does your disc play at all (e.g., with PBC off)? If it doesn't, then you may actually have a media compatibility problem.

In terms of programs that make menus:
- GNU VCDImager 0.7.x
- VideoPack4
- VCD Toolkit

VCDImager is freeware and the authoring is based around an XML descriptor file. There are now a number of GUIs for it.

VCD Toolkit has now been released for free too.

VideoPack4 is commercial.
