Sorry if this a bit of a noob question but I'm having trouble playing svcds on my dvd-rom.
The playback is jerky and the dvd drive sounds like it working overtime. I have no trouble though if I extract the mpg and play that (although obviously I would prefer to play from cd to save hd space)
Thanks

Check that DMA is enabled on your DVD-ROM drive. What OS are you running? What DVD Player software are you running?
-
What is the source and encoding method of your media ?
-
DMA is enabled. I have XP and WinDVD 3.0...
Source and encoding?? ermm its Centropy releases of Identity and The Hunted if I'm allowed to say that....thanks guys... -
Source, as in "DVD", "AVI"...
Encoding method as in "What encoder?" "Which settings?" "What bit rates?" "How did you burn?" "What media used?"
To me, that sounds like a bad burn (the dvd drive sounds like it working overtime.)
Try burning at lowest speed (2-4x) and see if that helps.
