  1. I'm trying to capture using V-Dub but it won't let my Cap Resolutions above 352*240. "Error 418: Unsupported Format" pops out. I know my card supports higher resolutions but how do I fix it?
I'm trying it on a P4 2.4Ghz 512 DDR Ram, WinTVGo Card. Any help would be appreciated.

  2. you need to disable "overlay" in virtualdub.
    capture in "preview" mode.

while you are in the "capture avi" mode
just press "video" and select "preview",
    and then start your capture.
HELL AINT A BAD PLACE TO BE

  5. Don't use the btwincap drivers...they will cause more grief then they are worth. Made my rock stable computer into a nightmare of instability.

I would recommend VirtualVCR http://www.digtv.ws it is the best capture program I've ever used...audio/video stay in perfect synch 99.99% of the time. Awesome software...I still use VDub but only fore editing and frameserving....

    btwincap is available from:
    http://btwincap.sourceforge.net/

I used it for my old Avermedia TV/FM and new WinFast TV2000, under both Win2k and WinXP.
    Never had a problem.
And yes, it gives 720x480 resolution in VDub.
It also has a very good feature: remove installed drivers of capture card, so if some driver doesn't work well, one can easily remove it.

I agree that VirtualVCR is great capture program.

  8. I've tried btwincap and I do get the higher resolutions but I can no longer use my TV tuner. Will I have to have to cards? 1 for capturing and 1 for TV?

I fixed this same problem by opening my bundled capture software first. I then closed it and opened Vdub and the error no longer appeared. I was trying to do 480x576 and got the 318 error.
