On DVD disk, alway show Approximation of video recording time-- HQ for 1 hour, SP for 2 hours, LP for 3 hours, EP for 4 hours, SLP for 6 hours.
How to make a DVD using EP recording time for 4 hours playing ?
Is there any special software need for it ?

DVD Video Discs are digital technology. The SP/LP/EP stuff is meaning less. Martketing added that so that a blank DVD 'would look like/be similar' to a blank VHS tape.
In the digital world what matters is file size. File size = bitrate x runtime. The higher the bitrate the better the video quialy, but the less runtime per disc. Or you can lower the bitrate (and the quaility) and have more runtime per disc.
There is no SP/LP/EP setting to choose in your software (althought neoDVD Standard gives you a High/Med/Low choice). What most people do is look at the runtime of their source video and then set the highest bitrate possible to complete fill the DVDR disc.
There are bitrate calculators to help you do this (look under the Tools section to the left). -
ULead DVD MovieFactory 2 does have these options, all it basically does is reduce the bitrate and screen dimemsions of the final output, so it is possible to have a DVD that is basically like an EP video
It is also possible to get upto 6 hours on a single DVD-R using ULead DVDMovieFactory 2, plus its very easy to set-up menus and chapters using this author software
Its pretty basic in other respects, but for menu and chapter creation its very simple to set-up, with virtually no need to read the instructions, unless you get stuck
The instructions do what they say, but its quite slow at re-encoding if required, but if time isn't important to you, give it a try
