  1. im trying to make a wave file of an avi file. I open the avi file (xvid) and try and change the audio conversion to 41000 from 48000. But when i then save the wav file it come up with this message NO AUDIO DECOMPRESSOR COULD BE FOUND TO DECOMPRESS THE SOURCE AUDIO FILE. I looked on the converter help pages and it says i must download lame mp3 codec but the link dont work.

Can anyone give me a link that works or some other codec that may help?

Or tell me another way of getting round it?

It sounds like you have ac3 audio which virtual dub cannot directly handle. Check out the following link for instructions on how to handle this type of situation. It's kinda complicated, at least for my simple little mind.

Or you can do as was suggested to me by Zippy and get goldwave. In goldwave you simply save as wav and it will extract the audio.

    Good luck,

    This is so much fun!

  3. If you look in the Tools section you'll find a link to AVICodec. This program can tell you which codec you need.
