  2. Im thinking about buying it. It will be my first DVD drive!!

I don't care if it can't do 4x DVD+-RW like the Sony DRU510A. I would consider the extra $100 on the Sony if it was much faster like >8x or something.

I got mines (external version) yesterday!!! OMG, i just checked their website and guess what?? They raised the price by 10 dollars. Im glad i got it before they did that, now im just testing it because if i dont like it I will return it to my local costco.

On the costco website it claims to burn ALL MEDIA AT 4X, yet i think its a typo.

  5. I couldn't find this drive online anymore so I called Costco. They said that they were going to discontinue selling it and it was going on sale for $199 at only a few select stores that had it until they were all gone!!! Thats a good deal!! I found it at a store 50miles away and thay only had 5 left. Hope I get there in time.

  6. This drive is back online at www.costco.com as of 6/09/03. Looks like they have a few more to sell. Anyone who has one of these, how about sharing your thoughts?

  7. I bought mine at a Store but the price went up to $230. They had to get it in the back room becuase it wasn't on display. Not sure if they are going to discontinue carrying them or not???

This drive is an NEC, becuase it says ND-1300A on the case. I have burned a cheap DVD+RW and a TDK2x DVD-R with no problems. The drive came with Nero Xpress, WinDVD4, Sonic MyDVD and DVD+RW.

I was able to install it with out using any software becuase my WinXP pro recognized it. Ulead moviefactory and Nero also see it.
