  1. I currently have the ATI All In Wonder VE, and I am using it with Showshifter. When the PC is in Standby mode for longer than 4-5 hours, and a scheduled program comes on to record, the screen is black but there is sound. Also, there are issues with the PC going into Standby Mode, where it gives me an error from the ATI device. I want to know what other TV Tuner cards there are that have the same features (Video Out to TV), but will work better with Showshifter.

Take it off of standby. Your standby isn't working properly if it doesn't bring everything back.
I'm not online anymore. Ask BALDRICK, LORDSMURF or SATSTORM for help. PM's are ignored.

  3. txpharoah,

The Standby works fine if it's not longer than 4-5 hours. The software was setup for this, and works fine sometimes, and then sometimes not. I've e-mailed the Showshifter supprt, and they are saying that it is a WDM problem with the ATI software. That's why I'm looking for another card with the same features, that I can try in my PC and see if there is still a problem. Do you know of another one that would work? I was looking that the Matrox RT 100. By the way it has to be PCI, I don't have an AGP slot. Any info would be appreciated.

Sounds like tech BS to me. If you ask ATI, they'll blame Showshifter. Or MS. Ask MS, and they'll blame the other products. Funny how that works. NEVER EVER believe tech support. They just want you to go away. I know, I've done that before for extra money, some years back.

  6. Does anybody else have any other recommendations on a Tuner Card that has the same options as the ATI AIW?

    eist1,
It is also possible that your mobo is giving you trouble. I had once a similar problem, and the culprit was mobo.

Just my personal opinion : I don't like the idea of combo TV/Video card.
As it is true for all combo devices, it is not cheaper than total price of both devices, sometimes even more expensive.
The only reason why you may want combo is if you have some uATX mobo with no spare slots.
If you have a proper ATX mobo with 5 PCI and 1 AGP , I don't see any reason to use combo card.
Just buy a good video card and good tv card, that way you can upgrade any part whenever you like. This especially makes sense if you are playing games and want a good video card.

  8. The reason I need a combo card, is that I'm using a small form factor PC, which has a limited number of slots. It is used just for video capture. Does anybody know of another card that might have both cature and video output?
