MP3 on DVD+R playback on standalone DVD player

I have a Mintek 1600 DVD player, and according to a few people on this site, it will playback mp3's put onto a DVD+R. I was wondering if there is any special format, software, etc... that I should use before attempting this? Thanks in advance!

In its simplest form: Just make a data disc using the DVD burning software that came with your DVD burner.

But to elaborate: I own a Sony DRX 500UL burner. I rip all my MP3s using MusicMatch, which creates a separate folder for each CD I rip. Using RecordNow, which came bundled with my burner, I burn a data DVD using the "Create Data Disc" wizard. I choose 4.3 GB of albums (choosing whole folders, not dumping all the songs into one big folder) and burn away.

As for shuffling w/ the Mintek 1600 (as mentioned in your pm): Pop in the disc, but don't start playing it. Once the disc is ID'd, press "Play Mode" on your remote twice until two columns of songs (not albums) are displayed on your screen. Press "Play" (or, technically, the ">" button) and once the music starts, press "Play Mode" to put the player in Shuffle mode.

One word of warning -- the Mintek seems to prefer the front end of a DVD while in shuffle mode, or at least mine seems to...

Function does not work on them all. Must be different versions. I tried this in a 1600 before buying my last player -- didn't work.
