  1. Hope this is the right forum. If not, maybe someone could suggest a better one...

    I just picked up a miniDV cam (Sharp VL-NZ105U Viewcam) and I'd like to know which "mode" I should record in to be compatible with future miniDV cam(s) that I may own. I can choose SP or LP record speeds and 12 or 16 bit audio. I read in the manual that SP provides the best compatibility with other miniDV camcorders, but it says nothing which audio "format" is more compatible. Can anyone suggest which audio mode I should use? Thanks.

    Hello

    You should ALWAYS use SP speed and 16-bit audio. Anything less is like recording at the EP/SLP speed on a mono VHS VCR. Well OK quality won't be that bad but the lower settings WILL degrade quality.
