  1. I recently purchased PS2 and I have organized about 200 pictures in 6 different slidewhows. I thought from information that I read on Uleads sight that with this program you could burn a disk that could be used on a DVD or also on your computer CD-Rom. I am to the point of burning this CD where it states to select Output Options and Preview. It mentions that DVD Player can be included on the disk which would allow you to view the VCD created on a computer. It also states that DVD player may not be available in some editions. My screen does not show this player as being available, so I assume that it is not available on my edition. Is there some where that I can download this player or is there any other way that this disk can be played on a computer as well as on a DVD. The 200 pictures that I have are from a recent golfing trip to Ireland and I would like to burn a disk for each member of our group, however they do not all have a DVD, but do have a computer.
    Thanks for any help,
    Gordon

  3. I don't have Ulead DVD PictureShow 2.

But I do have Ulead DVD MovieFactory 2 LE version that ships with Ulead MEDIASTUDIO PRO 7.0.

The Ulead DVD RunTime Player is a checkbox option in my program.

When I get to the final burning stage, there is a button that says OUTPUT ADVANCED SETTINGS.

When I click that button, a menu pops up and there is a check box giving me the option to INCLUDE DVD PLAYER.

Does your software not have something similar to this?

The Ulead DVD RunTime Player is not available separately... to my knowledge.

  4. I fell foul of the same ulead scam! apparently, the run-time player was only included on an OEM bundle version, though I can't find out out which one it was. after waiting 3 weeks for a response from Ulead, I had a reply saying that they were thinking of doing an upgrade with this DVd player, but no idea when.

useful software to get around it is Pictures to Exe which works in the same way as DVd picture show (add music, transitions etc), and turns slideshows into exe files, auto-run CDs or screen savers.

but as well as making twice the work, it also introduced another problem!

DVd picture show says you can leave the disc open, to add further files. I did this, with a view to adding Picture to Exe version. however Nero won't let me add any further data to the DVD picture show disc- it can't identify the track.

any ideas how to get around this?

  5. The Nero problem suggests to me that leaving the disc open only applies to further use of DVD PictureShow 2.

At least, that's my first impression from reading the problem description.

One way to get around the runtime player issue is to install Ulead PhotoExplorer...

    ...which is pretty inexpensive.

Then - check the option in DVD PictureShow 2 to include a PERSONAL folder on the discs that you create.

Within the PERSONAL FOLDER, include a Ulead PHOTOEXPLORER slide show that works like a PowerPoint presentation with its own player.

You could accomplish the same with a PowerPoint file or an Adobe Acrobat file.

I believe the versions of the Ulead DVD authoring software that include the Ulead runtime software DVD player are the more expensive versions... such as DVD WORKSHOP AC-3 and the LE version of DVD MovieFactory 2 that ships with MEDIASTUDIO PRO 7.0.

I just checked the product Web site there is an advisory that the DVD PictureShow output can be viewed on stand alone players and COMPUTERS USING DVD PLAYER SOFTWARE.

    http://www.ulead.com/dps/runme.htm

So - in fact - the meaning of that is clear.

Target computers need to have some sort of player software such as WinDVD to play the discs created by DVD PictureShow 2.
