  1. Can anyone please help?
My PC keeps freezing everytime i try to convert my video footage to DVD.

I use pinnacle studio DV video capture card, pinnacle studio software, unlead dvd, TMPGEnc all of wich freeze. the video footage is about 80 mins with and estimated dvd file size of 3gigs. I have a 2 gig Athlon processor and 2 80gig hard drives as well as over 500 megs ram.

  2. Hi there,

What version of windows do you use? (XP,2000,98)

You could try downloading and installing the latest drivers for your video capture hardware and your computer's video card.

Also, running microsoft windows update by going to http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com may help you. This will update your system files and possibly correct some problems with your computer.

Also, if you are creating one big file (over 2gb) you need to be running Windows XP/2000/NT and using the NTFS file system, otherwise individual filesizes are limited to 2gb (FAT).

If you need help with any of the above just say, I can provide details,

    hope this info helps,

If your file is trying to go past 4GB on a FAT32 system, that is why.
I'm not online anymore. Ask BALDRICK, LORDSMURF or SATSTORM for help. PM's are ignored.

    Sherilee,

I think you'll be better off with XP. It handles large files much better than 98. Make sure to format with NTFS and try to capture to seperate HDD. Also defrag often, it helps move things along better.

    Good luck!
Got my retirement plans all set. Looks like I only have to work another 5 years after I die........

XP tends to be unfriendly towards video. Try Win2K for NTFS.
