I have just rebuilt my win98 PC and before it was rebuilt I had DVCAM installed on my device settings under Sound, game & video controllers.
Now for some reason I am getting 1394\A02D&10001 unknown device under 'Other Devices'. with a question mark next to it. Trying to update the driver - can't be found anywhere not even through 'Microsoft Windows updates'.
The Firewire card is under '1394 Bus Controller' and is installed properly.
The camcorder is Canon DV 530i.
Anyone please help ?

Sounds like you need to re-run the original install disk that came with your camcorder to install the drivers. If it is no longer available, go to Canon's site and see if you can download the latest drivers for your cam. After they are installed and you reboot, the yellow marked device in Device Manager should be replaced with the proper device installed.

What drivers ?
There are non on the web site and no CD ?
I thought these sort of drivers were not specific to a camcorder.
I tried Ulead DVD software and reported that I had NO capture drivers installed !!!
Surely there are genric drivers ?
