  1. I recently tried to watch Monsters Inc on DVD with a progressive scan DVD player and THX certified $100 Component connectors into a Sony WEGA KV-34XBR800 HDTV and it looked like crap!!! Tried Interlaced mode as well and nothing cleared up the image......most of the picture was perfect but there were a lot of colors and shapes that flicker like crazy and render it unwatchable!! Any suggestions?

  2. espensive isnt always the way to go...i have a $79 Govideo running on a 64" phillips big screen. cost me $2000. and its an all CGI movie..made on computer...but displayed on film. its destined not to be as HQ as a real film.

mysticgohan17 - what do you mean CGI is not as good as real film ? much of "real film" IS CGI ... there is no diff. in terms of quality of resolution in most cases ... well there can be if rendered at to low a res or color , but thats not the case w/ monsters inc .. at least not the org. render ..

i wonder if they used a film scan of monsters inc instead of the source files which would be cheaper but poorer quality ..
