    FYI...

I was at Best Buy this afternoon and saw Verbatim DVD+R spindle of 15 for $29.99. Yeah, I know, going mail order I can get discs cheaper, but this wasn't too bad for being "off the shelf."

Upon close look, they are marked 1x-4x speed on the side!! So I bought them.

I have burned 4 discs already on my Sony DRU-500A firmware 2.0e . 3 were Data, 1 a movie, ALL WERE BURNED SUCCESSFULLY at 4x! The "data verification" part was also successful. Doing a File Compare via command prompt, files match. The movie DVD plays fine in my Pioneer DV-440 dvd player.

All in all, I will probably buy more of these when this batch runs out.

    Hello

Although they seem to be out-of-stock more than in-stock I would like to point out that BESTY BUY also carries the 15-pack 2x DVD-R discs by Verbatim and the price is $29.99 or .95 or whatever.

Not a bad price for Grade-A media.

Sorry to here that, Verbatim is very dependable media. Too bad you cant get them on BB's website, it always stats "Not available for delivery. Not available for store pickup."

I just went to that same best buy to get more discs yesterday...

They had only two of the 15pack verbatim 4x DVD+R discs, RIGHT NEXT TO 15pack Verbatim 2.4x DVD+R also for $29.99. There were also a 30Pack Verbatim 2.4x DVD+R pack for $59.99.

The 2.4x and 4x packs look almost identicle so be carefull what you pick up if you are really looking for the 4x pack.

There was no tag for the 4x pack on the shelf, but they are now on BB's web site (I didn't see them listed when I picked up my first pack of these) along with a larger selection of DVD +R,-R and RW discs. As of just now when I checked it states "In Stock - Usually ships in 2-3 business days. Available for pickup at most stores. " and also says "Free shipping."

Btw, in case you want to know, they are marked on spindle's label as "Reorder #94589" and on the receipt show up as "5394405 DVD+R Discs. " the 5394405 might be best buy's item number that they can look up to see if instock, or at another store close by.
